What is privatelesson.co.uk?

Privatelesson.co.uk's purpose is to help private teachers find private students.Teachers enter their details and these are stored on our database. These profiles are then viewed by students and if a student sees a profile from a teacher they feel, they would like to be taught by, the student then contacts the teacher. The site is only for teachers genuine about teaching and students genuine about learning. Although we do not tell you how to teach, we do expect that you take your teaching very seriously. Teachers can choose their own rates and teach as they please. We ask that teachers who receive students through this website deal with those students in a professional manner.

Who should use privatelesson.co.uk?
People genuine and serious about teaching and learning. You must currently be living in the U.K. and be available to teach in order to sign up, and we ask that you intend to stay in the U.K. for a period of at least 3 months. You are required to be an expert (or highly skilled in what you are teachng). If you mention qualifications you have obtained in your profile, you may be required to show these to your students.

Where do I teach?
You can decide this together with your student. If you have access to a classroom or a free space in a library or community centre this would be ideal. Other common places are a coffee shop, an office or the student or teacher's home.

How do students get my contact information?
Students can browse the teacher profiles for free. Teacher contact details are listed on the teacher profiles so students can contact the teachers directly.

How do I remove my profile?
You can remove or edit your profile at any time. Just click the 'edit profile' button from the home page and follow the instructions.

Who can post their details as a teacher?
We ask that genuine teachers only with teaching experience or a developed skill which can benefit others, teach. We also ask that only legal residents who intend to be in the U.K. for a minimum of three months add their profiles.

How can I be sure the teacher information posted is valid?
Although we believe that all the teacher information is correct and that the teacher profiles are accurate, we do not interview or proof our teachers before uploading their profile. We can not confirm the qualifications and experience teachers claim to have. The information displayed is purely the information posted by the teacher. If you suspect that the information supplied by a teacher may be inaccurate, please contact us and we will remove the teacher from our database immediately.

Where should I meet my teacher?
This depends entirely on you and your teacher. Many teachers can provide their own classroom, however those that can't are usually willing to go to the student's home or teach in a public place
